Even back then, I had questions.

I’m Simone — a recovering believer, a lifelong learner, and the founder of Simone Asks Why. For years, faith shaped my entire existence. I was the girl sending “God loves you” messages before school, leading Bible studies, volunteering at orphanages, and believing, with all my heart, that if I prayed hard enough, everything would be okay. But life taught me otherwise.

I didn’t lose faith overnight. I found myself over time.

After nearly losing myself to illness, heartbreak, mental collapse, and shattered beliefs, I came face-to-face with a truth I could no longer ignore: My worth was never tied to obedience. My mind was never meant to be shackled by fear. And love — real love — doesn’t demand suffering.

Simone Asks Why is the place I needed when I was lost. It’s a resource for those unraveling inherited beliefs, recovering from religious trauma, and searching for real, sustainable meaning beyond dogma.
